TV Repair Job Sheet Format for LED & Smart TV Service Centres
A TV repair is long and expensive, the panel is fragile, and half the work starts at the customer's home. The job sheet has to survive all three.
In short: what goes on it
A TV repair job sheet should record the job number and dates; the customer's name, WhatsApp number and address for a home visit; the TV's type (LED, LCD, smart, Android), brand, model, screen size and serial number; the reported fault; the panel and body condition at intake; what came with it (remote, power cable, stand, wall mount, box, warranty card); the diagnosis and estimate the customer approved before parts were ordered; the advance; and terms for panel risk and uncollected sets.
Why a TV needs a different job sheet
A TV costs more to fix than most devices and is easy to damage in transit. The sheet protects both sides:
- For the customer: a record of the set's condition when it left their home and of the estimate they agreed to before the panel or board was ordered.
- For the service centre: proof that a line on the panel or a cracked corner was there before, and a signed approval for an expensive part.

Three things a TV sheet must have
- Panel condition with photos: a pressure mark or faint line is easy to miss and impossible to prove later. Photograph the screen powered on before you open the set.
- Approval before the part: a panel can cost more than half the TV. Record when and how the customer approved the estimate, not just the amount.
- Home visit details: many TV jobs start at the customer's home. Write the address and the visit charge on the sheet so the bill does not surprise anyone.

Frequently asked questions
Where is the serial number on a TV?
On the label on the back panel, usually next to the model number. Many smart TVs also show it in the settings menu under “About”.
Should the customer approve the estimate in writing?
For a panel or board, yes. A WhatsApp reply is enough if it is recorded against the job; the point is a dated approval before you order an expensive part.
What if the panel cracks during repair?
State the risk on the job sheet before work starts. A clear line about panel risk, accepted by the customer, prevents most of these disputes.
Can the same format be used for speakers and home theatres?
Yes. Replace the panel section with the speaker and amplifier condition, and list the cables, remote and satellite speakers handed over.
